Many people come to therapy because they are tired of struggling with the same problems over and over and they know they are related to past experiences. People who have been trapped by negative experiences such as childhood trauma may feel like a failure and beat themselves up when they don’t measure up to their own expectations. Frustration with a lack of progress leads to feelings of helplessness, but things can be different.

I work with you to explore past experiences, so you can understand how those experiences might cause problems for you today. One important aspect of our work together is to encourage you to bring your dreams into session. This powerful tool allows us to gain insight into your presenting concern, gives us language for talking about it, and allows us to explore areas of growth.

With compassion, a new understanding of past experiences allows my clients to build self-awareness and learn how to move past their negative experiences. They no longer feel weighed down by their past and find hope in a life they can be content with.

Experience

I began my journey as a therapist 15 years ago when he graduated with a BA in psychology. Over the next 10 years, I worked in a community mental health group home, where I was able to support people with acute mental health issues. I graduated with a masters degree in counselling Psychology in 2023 where I was able to further develop my skills in a therapeutic setting. The experience I gained in community health and the skills I developed in my masters program have allowed me to develop and sustain trusted helping relationships that have greatly improved others’ quality of life. I value these relationships in my work as a therapist, especially with couples, men, people who have experienced trauma, or people who feel lost in life.

Client Focus:

Couples, Individual Adult, Older Adult (50+), Adolescents (12+), Family

Types of therapy:

More than just my work:

I have a very creative mind that I express through making music and writing poetry, and also by enjoying literature, movies, and visual arts. This helps in my work as a therapist because it allows me to read deeper into people’s problems and offer novel insights or solutions.

Today, we understand that therapy is not a bad word. In fact, in the journey of going after the life we want to live, it can be a huge help. With professional guidance, navigating relationships, building resilient self-esteem, and coming to terms with the normalcy of failing and getting back up can feel more attainable.

I know it can be confusing to get started and to find the right therapist, so feel free to try a first session or free consult. My goal is for therapy to be a place you look forward to going; somewhere you can find empathy, humour, and understanding.

I take the time to help you explore the impacts of your experiences, accept or let go of discomfort, and practice skills to help you at each stage of change. While I will gently challenge you to bring out the best in you, I want to get to know you as a person, and not a set of problems.

Experience

Rachel is a Registered Provisional Psychologist from BC who completed her training at the Calgary Counselling Centre – a world-renowned training site. Leaning into the unknown can be both daunting and fearful; exciting and hopeful. Often, stepping into therapy brings up these (and many more) emotions. If you’ve found your way here, I’m glad you’ve taken this courageous first step.

Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, especially when we’re caught in the storm of difficult relationships, unresolved trauma, or struggles with anxiety or depression. Sometimes, we just feel “off”—like something has shifted, but we’re not sure what it is or how to make sense of it. Whether you’re grappling with a specific issue or simply looking for a way to move through life with more clarity and purpose, therapy can help you find a sense of direction amidst the chaos.

I believe therapy is a process of discovering moments of peace in the midst of turbulence. In our work together, I’ll help you explore the things that bring you here—whether that’s understanding your reactions to past trauma, navigating the complexities of difficult relationships and boundaries, or working through feelings of anxiety or depression. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s happening in your life, explore the underlying patterns, and work toward actionable change that can bring you back into alignment with yourself.

Navigating therapy with me means embracing the unknown with courage and hope. My approach is warm, open, and light-hearted, designed to help you feel safe as we walk this journey together. I’m passionate about empowering you to harness your own strengths, cultivate resilience, and create the lasting changes that lead to a life you feel proud of.
