At times, clients can find the initial stages of therapy daunting. They often feel distant from their ideal selves and are unsure of the first step to take.

In my therapeutic approach, I adopt a holistic method to assist clients in unraveling and understanding their feelings, experiences, and aspirations. My objective is to help clients deepen their self-awareness, facilitating transformations that guide them towards reaching their desired goals.

I aim to create a secure environment where clients feel at ease to express themselves and feel confident to share their concerns. A strong bond, founded on trust, allows us to collaboratively pursue beneficial outcomes throughout the therapeutic process.

I’m also passionate about cheering on my nephews and nieces at their sports events, and indulging in slow-paced runs for the sheer childlike enjoyment it gives me.”

Having graduated from the University of British Columbia with a major in psychology and minor in sociology, I have always been interested and passionate about the psychology behind why people do what they do. I was fortunate to begin working in the field of psychology soon after graduation as a cognitive therapist, providing treatment and therapy to clients who had suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). I became fascinated by neuropsychological assessment, so I went on to pursue a career in psychometry. My role as a psychometrist included testing, measuring, and assessing the cognitive capacity of client’s who suffered from mild to severe traumatic brain injury, neurological diseases, psychological health issues and/or learning disabilities. I am currently a graduate student at Yorkville University and will soon be graduating with a master’s degree in counselling.

My greatest inspiration is to make my loved ones proud. I am a sister, daughter, partner, and friend. My fulfillment comes from making those closest to me proud of not only life achievements, but also of the person I strive to be in all of those roles. I enjoy learning from others and finding inspiration from those around me who achieve goals, set a good example, and are continually working to improve themselves. Beyond a strong desire to help others, my motivation to become a counsellor is rooted in my genuine interest in understanding a client’s challenge and helping them solve the puzzle of conquering that problem. I’ve always been the shoulder to lean on for my friends and family, so it made all the sense to pursue a career in counselling to lend my shoulder to others. Watching the progression of clients over the course of the time we spend together is so enjoyable for me to watch and is the reason that I love what I do. I am so thrilled to be joining Still Waters Psychology because it aligns with my interest in supporting clients through all of life’s seasons and the challenges they may bring. I have always gravitated towards a holistic approach to health – I believe that the mind, body, and soul are all pieces of ourselves that contribute to our well-being and happiness. Still Waters offers the space to grow my skills as a counsellor and I am excited to continue my learning in the mental health field to better serve my clients. When I’m not working, you can always find me with my four-legged best friend, Teeko. We put on a lot of miles hiking up mountains and going on adventures. In the winter months I enjoy snowboarding with friends or curling up by the fire with a good book (and Teeko). In the summer months I love going to the lake for wake surfing and family time (with Teeko). On the weekends I’m usually attending my partner’s dirt bike races, but we also love to camp and spend time with family and friends, and our dog (did I mention Teeko?).

Finding support through our toughest times can be an overwhelming and confusing experience. Whether it is overcoming a major loss or better understanding yourself,my goal is to help relieve the burden of trying to make it through these challenges alone. I aim to empower each individual to better understand and cope with whatever it is they are facing. Together, we will explore the emotions, thoughts, actions, and relational struggles that may prevent someone from feeling their full self.

I use a variety of therapeutic tools and modalities to help inform my clients and learn ways to better live through life’s biggest challenges such as life transitions, relationship conflict/closures, anxiety, depression, lowered self-esteem, and trauma experiences.
